If You Like Old-School Wall Street Stories, Then Watch This...

When I first started here at Barstool, I was convinced that any Wall Street stories I told on Barstool Breakfast (RIP Sirius), or narrated over the animated series Extra Large (RIP Barstool Gold), or chatted about on The Family Office (RIP Barstool Finance) would only appeal to people my age in my old industry.

To my surprise, a shitload of younger people in finance had reached out to say that they LOVED hearing about what they now think of as "the goold old days" because the industry has changed so much… And not for the better.

So, for anyone who has a curiosity about what working on the trading floor of NYSE was like before they turned it into a museum, the most recent episode of my food-centric podcast YOU GOTTA TRY THIS is co-hosted by a guy named Eddie Mayrose who was more than just a fixture on the floor of the exchange; he was a fucking legend.

Less importantly, Eddie would go on to raise a son who became a clutch men's league hoops player AND the "King of the Jersey Shore"…

Rico's dad and I overlapped on the floor of the NYSE for only a short time before I moved up to the trading desk. Still, we have arguably too many friends in common and just as many stories about what life was like when 11 Wall Street was THE fucking center of the financial universe.

Give it a peek if you want to hear about a time when quaaludes were still available and Human Resource Departments didnt exist.

And if you wanna see some food content, I pissed off waaaaay too many people by eating a North Shore Beef on the South Shore and (perhaps purposely?) mispronouncing the name of a local potato chip brand…
