So Who The F Is Gonna Raise These Kids? - Podfathers Episode 7

Back in the olden days this shit was easy. You dont pull out, the kid comes out, you go back to work, your wife stays home and raises that thing. Maybe you see them a couple times at night and on the weekends and then you ship em off to college. When we were kids, being a dad was cake. It was like being a wild animal. Once your young is born, Mama Bear takes care of them and you’re just doing whatever.

Well I dont know what happened between then and now. Maybe it was glass ceilings being shattered. Maybe shit is just that much more expensive now. But all I know is this idea that your wife doesnt have to work and you can survive on just one salary like it aint no thang – thats out the goddam window. She goes through the hell that is childbirth, takes a few weeks off, and then shes back on that grind. So who the fuck is gonna watch these kids?

Grandma and Grandpa? They’re old as shit.

Nannies? Au pair? Depends on if you hit Powerball after you have the kid.

Daycare? Sure, just take out a small loan to pay for the “tuition.” When your kid is fucking THREE MONTHS OLD you shouldnt have to throw around the “T” word. Plus you also gotta figure out the cost of a HazMat decontamination chamber for everyday when they get home from school because they basically spend all day with diseased monkeys from Outbreak.
