A few things are going to happen once you have a kid:

1) You will not get anymore sleep

2) You will not go out with your friends (a lot) anymore

3) And your wife and your boss will probably hate you

Bottom line is, theres only so many hours in a day. You wanna be a part of your kids life? You’re gonna cut into work time. You wanna kill it at work? You’re gonna cut into family time. And because its not realistic for any guy out there to completely say “Fuck it” to either of those two responsibilities, you gotta cut corners on both. You gotta go against Mike Ehrmantraut’s words, and embrace the Half Measures life. Cut corners at work, cut corners at home, and juggle the two as best you can. Your wife will hate you at times and say youre a workaholic. Your boss will hate you at times, and say you’re lazy or not around enough. And thats just the way it goes. Because life as a husband and father is like an eternal game of Monkey In the Middle. Or a game of Marco Polo where you can never find anyone. You cant win. You’re fighting a war on two fronts and all you can do is hope to make as much money as you can without getting divorced while spending as much time with your family without getting fired.
