If You Could Only Choose To Use References From Seinfeld, The Office, Or Chappelle's Show... Which Would You Choose?
All-time question posed by a genius on today’s KFC Radio: gun to your head, you’re only allowed to make references from either Seinfeld, The Office, or Chappelle’s Show for the rest of your life, what are you choosing?
Right off the bat I’m killing Chappelle. I don’t want to say it was crazy easy, but it was crazy easy. If that makes me a racist then so be it. Chappelle was hysterical, and some of his skits flat-out predicted the future. But as far as references go? It pales in comparison to the other two show on the board. Those Kevin and Asa chose Chappelle because they’re idiots, but not me. I’m a good and smart boy.
That leaves us with either The Office or Seinfeld and it would be doing a disservice to these two programs to compare this decision to a Sophie’s choice. I’d rather have a child killed before I choose one of these shows to never talk about again. Nonetheless, I think I’m going with Seinfeld. It’s not a choice I make lightly, but the fact of the matter is that while I think The Office has more laugh out loud and gif-able moments, Seinfeld is more necessary to get by in day-to-day life. There are Seinfled references used every day that people don’t even know they’re using them. Yes, it sucks to forever forfeit the Michael Scot “NOOOOOOOOOOOOO” vine, but I couldn’t live without close talkers, double dipping, Festivus, master of my domain, mimbo, man hands, the yada yada, worlds colliding, “I was in the pool!!!!,” etc, etc. In order to live in society (another one) you have to have Seinfeld references at the ready. You just have to.
