Hockey Over. What Do Now?

2018 NHL Stanley Cup Final - Game Five

And thus concludes another chapter in the book of hockey. The season started on October 4th. For the first time in NHL history, we had 31 teams chasing after Lord Stanley’s Cup. And now 8 months later, after an 82 game regular season, the playoffs, and the Washington Capitals winning the Stanley Cup Final in 5 games over the Vegas Golden Knights, it’s all over. The 2017-18 NHL season has come to an end. So uhh… well… what the fuck do we do now?

We’re over 100 days away until next year’s hockey season. Obviously there are a few things to look forward to in the meantime. We’ve got the Draft coming up on the 22nd. We’ve got Free Agency opening up on July 1st with a bunch of big names about to hit the market. And I’m sure we’ll also be getting some news about Seattle at some point over the summer. But it’s just not the same. What are we supposed to do until October rolls around again?

I guess baseball still exists. And we have the World Cup coming up since I guess they didn’t cancel it this year even without USA playing. There is also the World Lacrosse Championships coming up next month in Israel. But this is a legitimate question. I guess we could start having hobbies or some shit? I don’t know. Anybody have any good book recommendations? Maybe I’ll read about 15 pages of it one time on the beach and then never look at it again. This is always the most confusing time of the year and I’m just looking for a little guidance.
