Vegan Jogger Offended By the Smell of Meat Tells Neighbors to Close Windows While Cooking

Firstly, the least surprising news of 2020 is that this story comes to us from Berkeley, California. If I heard this story and I had one guess as to where in the U.S. it came from, the Bay Area would have undoubtedly been my first choice. But now let's go to the tape.

What's up neighborhood, one love

I'm almost forced to believe this is fake just five words in. Nobody can possibly be this stereotypical. Yet, he continues.

Quite honestly the odor is offensive and I'm hoping our community can have some empathy for its #plantbased neighbors by closing their windows if they are cooking meat and only putting vegetables on their bbq.

When telling people what they need to do in their own homes to appease you, always be sure to include the hashtag so you don't miss out on any engagement. That's Social Media 101.

While this post from a California vegan jogger does not surprise me in the least, I'm genuinely curious what the reactions from her neighbors are. Because if you posted that in a Facebook group in Tennessee, you'd get 30 responses from people telling you that they're going to set up their grills on the front lawn specifically at the time you go jogging — and they'd actually do it.

But we're obviously dealing with a different set of people in Berkeley. Are they more receptive to changing their cooking habits to satisfy the whims of one jogger? Or are even they fed up with this sort of nonsense? While there's no way to verify where all these people are from, the Twitter commenters seem none too keen on helping this poor jogger.

I guess even in 2020 this country isn't as receptive a place to vegan joggers as you'd think.
