Gender Reveal Party Explosive Starts A Wildfire In California That's Burned 7,000 Acres

A fire that has destroyed over 7,000 acres and forced the evacuation of 3,000 residents was caused by a "smoke generating" explosive used at a gender-reveal party, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. "With the dry conditions and critical fire weather, it doesn’t take much to start a wildfire. Those responsible for starting fires due to negligence or illegal activity can be held financially and criminally responsible," the statement said.

"The fire erupted around 10:30 a.m. Saturday at El Dorado Ranch Park, and by afternoon, had spurred the evacuation of about 3,000 residents. The fire remained at 5 percent containment, with more than 600 personnel battling the flames." — CBS

SHUT IT DOWN. No more gender-reveal parties. At least, you shouldn't be allowed to use explosives. If we can't all agree this has gotten WAY out of hand, we are doomed.
