We Simply Do Not Talk Enough About Just How Ridiculous The Intern Royal Rumble Of 2016 Was

What an ABSURD throwback this was to see today from the Viva La Stool Twitter account when they tweeted about the 5 year anniversary of the Intern Royal Rumble. For those that weren't on the Pirate Ship 1,825 days ago and are wondering what the hell this Royal Rumble was it's pretty much exactly as it sounds. The story goes that Pardon My Take had decided to call the Boca Raton Bowl the Wet The Beak Ponzi Scheme Awareness Bowl.

And when that happens you're gonna need a halftime show...So what was settled upon for the halftime show? The Intern Royal Rumble. The idea was all the interns in the building having a last-fella out Royal Rumble-style pushing match in the middle of the office with the final 2 bobbing for apples and later searching for a $100 $8 gift card to the Outback Steakhouse so pretty much $60 one Bloomin' Onion.

The interns taking part were actually a bunch of folks you're quite familiar with today including Ria, Robbie Fox, Tommy, Hubbs, Ken Jac, and yours truly along with a few other kind fellas. If I recall correctly I was quite confident going in for 2 reasons: the first was that Maria, Robbie, and I had formed a team and the second being that I was obviously the largest one there...by a fair margin. If they didn't collectively band together for all 7 of them to just roll me out of the circle in Round 1 it was an easy trip to the finals for me.

And to top off the festivities in the finals we had to rummage through our Barstool Barstools (barstool-ception) to find the gift card taped to the bottom of one of 'em! And guess what? There are EXTREMELY sharp panels below some barstools. That led to my finger practically being sliced open & rushed quickly to a CityMD. First time I ever got stitches, but we persevered like the good lord would've wanted. Great times were had by all.

We will forever cherish the great Intern Royal Rumble of 2016.
