Barstool Sports Will Bowl a 300 Someday

Consider this an official prediction. I know this isn't an original idea or anything. I'm pretty certain I heard Big Cat say this was already on the table at some point. But the way things are trending, Barstool will have to keep coming up with these types of challenges that result in 12+ hour streams. The content is too good to not milk for everything we possibly can. They're weirdly addicting. To be be honest, I wasn't planning on watching the 41 straight free throws challenge especially closely. I'd only planned to check in periodically and fire off a few #DKPartner tweets. But next thing I know it's 5am and I'm still laying in bed glued to my laptop. I couldn't stop watching.

That's the second time Barstool Chicago has pulled it off. Jerry's hole-in-one challenge was even more popular. The marathon streams work. So as long as people keep watching them we're going to have to keep coming up with ideas. I've now come to the realization, as I'm sure many other people have, that eventually somebody (or somebody's) at Barstool Sports will have to bowl a perfect 300 game.

I'm not even sure this is possible, but I don't see a world where we don't eventually try it. It has to be harder than a hole-in-one. You can get lucky one time and hit a hole-in-one. You have to be perfect 12 times in a row for a 300. Also, not all hole-in-ones are created equal. Jerry was able to hit one from 87 yards on an elevated tee. To hit one from 200 yards with a tucked pin is a whole different story. But bowling alleys are created more equal. I know that the lanes can be oiled in ways that make them more difficult, but there's not nearly as much variance between lanes as there are with par 3's. They use the same sized bowling balls, lanes are all the same width & length, and they all have 10 pins at the end of them.

Selfishly, I'd like to see them have to bowl a legitimate 300. No mulligans or anything. I want to see a stream that lasts months where the entire company is forced to rotate in and out to take their shifts. I'm not sure at what point a stream starts having diminishing returns, but I want to see us push the envelope. Maybe bowling for 6 straight months would be the best content we've ever done.

But that's not realistic. We'd need some sort of ability to use mulligans. Or maybe we treat it like a golf scramble. Have 3 people bowl on different lanes all at once. If just one person hit's a strike than they move on to the next frame. I'm also pretty sure we'd have to get Pete Weber involved.

I'm sure we have options aside from a 300 game as well. I'd like to see us try to complete some sort of crazy Rube Goldberg machine. Like what Marty and Dana did during quarantine but on steroids.

Whatever it is, I'm sure it's going to work. I'm sure it'll be something that everybody thinks they'll be able to do in 4-5 hours, but will result in them being trapped on stream for days on end. But personally, I really want to see the 300 stream.

And I can't mention bowling a 300 without shouting out the man who bowled one on 9/11. Maybe we can call Bill Moro in to help us too. If he's still alive that is.
