This Video Of Chicago's Mayor Frantically Running Away From A Reporter Trying To Ask A Question Is Straight Out Of Veep

Exhibit A:

Exhibits B:

The first clip posted was an actual scene from yesterday afternoon, where a CBS Chicago reporter attempted to ask our mayor a question. Not mug him. Not accost him. Not even get confrontational. And that was his reaction.

His security detail was so caught off guard they got left in the dust and sprinted to the truck to catch up to him.

Imagine if it was one of the other scenarios and he didn't have a getaway car ready and an entire team of dudes with earpieces and glocks on their hips?

The second clip is a scene from the amazing comedy show Veep. It's a comedy centered around American politics, namely, the career of Selina Meyer, who goes from Vice President to President. It was intended to be a comedy, but in retrospect, it's sadly becoming more and more true to life by the day. The clip is from a scene where an arrogant reporter goes after Selina trying to make her squirm and look bad. Something that didn't even happen here with mayor Johnson. But I posted for context. The third clip is a highlight reel from the show and some of Julia Louis Dreyfus' best work.

I posted it because Mayor Brandon Johnson and the character Julia Louis Dreyfus plays on the show are basically the same person. Somebody thrust into a position they have no business being in. In far, far over their heads. Yet here we are.
