A Kansas High School Soccer Announcer Was Caught on a Hot Mic Pointing Out Hot Moms and Saying He Wanted To Kill Himself Because the Game Was So Bad

The voice you hear during halftime of the third place game of a Kansas high school girls soccer state tournament between McPherson and Rose Hill is that of Toby Moore, a man who is now barred from covering any KSHSAA sporting events going forward. I wonder why.

Look, say what you want about the guy, but he cared more about that soccer game than anyone who wasn't on the pitch ever should have. He was very invested in these girls playing a high level of footy and if he didn't get that, it was possibly going to drive him to the brink of suicide. Sure, he said some stuff you can't say, but you're not going to find a replacement with more passion for the game.

I don't know if the first half of Moore's monologue would have been enough to get him barred from covering high school soccer going forward, but if not, the second half sure did it. You can't see the mom Moore and the other guy in the booth are talking about, but they were quite enthralled.

This ordeal is obviously quite a negative experience for Moore, but he did deliver one of the unintentionally funniest lines I've ever heard in my life: "I think we got it all out of our system. We can put the mic live again." You can't script that.

Always assume your mic is hot, kids.
