The Blackhawks Have Called Up Frank Nazar And We Are Officially In The Fun Part Of The Rebuild

OUR FIRST CHRISTMAS PRESENT IS HERE

Welcome up to the varsity, Frankie Nazar. What a great way to start the weekend. Something to be excited about. I have been banging the drum for Nazar to come up for a little while now. Not because I want something to be interested in with the Blackhawks, but because he's earned it. Frank Nazar has been absolutely KILLING the American Hockey League. Production, pace, attitude, he's shown he has it all. And when a young player does virtually everything right you NEED to reward him. Sports are supposed to be a meritocracy. It's gotten to the point where the Blackhawks can't possibly deny that he's one of the most talented 6 forwards in their program. He's earned a shot to prove it at the highest level. He's been flying and his confidence is seemingly through the roof right now. I mean look at this play he attempted on the PK the other night

You don't try plays like that unless you're absolutely feeling it. He tried this later in the game

The account described it as finesse. I would describe it as a "fuck you" type of play. Speed, control, skill, and attacking right down main street. Lowering the shoulder and creating a chance out of nowhere. That is something the Blackhawks desperately need. And…it's fun.

This is the fun era of the rebuild. Expectations are obviously low still, but Bedard scoring last night. Korchinski looking pretty good in his recent call-up. The young stallions are coming. This is like when the Cubs pressed go on their rebuild officially in 2015. Rizzo was already up, but then it was seemingly a never ending train of exciting future core players being added. Baez, Bryant, Russell, Schwarber, Soler, and the in a blink the Cubs were good. It will take longer here with the Blackhawks, but the era where watching the Hawks felt like your parents making you eat your vegetables is hopefully over.

Who knows how long Nazar and Korchinski will be up in the NHL. Let's hope they make it impossible for the Blackhawks brass to send them down, but for now let's just have fun and look into a crystal ball.
