The Pacers Have Officially Won The Tyrese Haliburton Trade

Is it a good thing if you're trying to trade the guy you decided to build your roster around? When the Pacers and Kings decided to make big moves in 2022 by shuffling things up and dealing key pieces - everyone was in full agreement that this is one of those trades where everyone wins. Haliburton and Sabonis where stuck on a roster where there was an excess at their position, and the Pacers weren't about to trade away Myles Turner for the sole reason that Indiana's front office gets off to the thrill of throwing Turner on the trade block every season. It's a weird power kink, but it works, so I'm not judging.

The Kings had De'Aaron Fox, Davion Mitchell, and Tyrese Haliburton on their roster at point guard in 2021, and currently it's looking like they will have NONE of those guys in 2025. Sabonis is a triple double machine, but like he was in Indy, he's a stat stuffer. I love him, but Sabonis belongs in the 90's when big men didn't need to shoot. Meanwhile, Haliburton is only 24 years old, locked in on a max contract, all while Indiana is building out a championship team around him. Granted it has been a roller coaster with injuries and Hali going through a slump, but with the Pacers getting healthy and Haliburton developing into a star, it looks like the Pacers are the overall winners in the trade.

This bit is perfect for the situation and funny even without applying it to the Kings / Pacers situation. I didn't laugh out loud, but got to respect this creativity.
