3MT: Eddie George Says Ray Lewis Has ZERO Theater Etiquette
This week I had the chance to sit down with Eddie George, the 1995 Heisman Trophy winner and All Pro running back for the Oilers/Titans. He was very open and funny on a wide variety of subjects.
One of the things that got left on the cutting room floor was his post-football career as a theater actor. Eddie took acting and vocal lessons after he retired as a way to scratch his performance itch. He happened to be talented enough at it that he got the lead role as Billy Flynn in the traveling production of the Tony Award winning play Chicago. Turns out, at a particular showing (in Chicago of all places), a rather famous NFL linebacker showed up conspicuously in the audience to critique his performance. Ray Lewis.
So I had to ask, what was more intimidating, Ray Lewis the Hall of Fame linebacker, or Ray Lewis, theater patron?
We had a great conversation on the NFL, living with a famous wife (Taj from SWV), and even why Penn State wanting him to play linebacker still sticks in his craw. Check out the full 3MT below:
