Starting 9 - Best of 2019 | Barstool Sports

As we close the books on 2019, it's been cool to look back on all we've done with Starting 9 this year. It was our third season doing the podcast, but it was by far the most access we've ever had, the most interviews we've ever done, and the most connected we've ever been to the league and its players.

Our goal has always been to take the platform that we've created here on Barstool Sports and showcase these players' personalities so that baseball fans can feel more connected than ever before to the game that we all love. Starting 9 is a place where players have come over the last three years to let their hair down and share their personal stories with a few laughs in between. It's these stories that we hope will continue to grab more new fans, as we try to break the walls down of baseball being a regional sport. It doesn't have to be. There's so much talent in this league and so many personalities that haven't had the chance to attract fans outside of their own markets. That's where we come in.

As much of a success as 2019 was, Dallas, JayHay and I are far from satisfied. We see what the Spittin' Chiclets guys have built. We know that we've only scratched the surface for what our podcast can be. We want to continue to bring you the interviews that you want to hear with the baseball talk that you want to listen to. More interviews, more podcasts, more videos. So, thank you for listening and thank you for watching over these last three seasons. The Starting 9 train does not roll on without the Grounds Crew and we'll be right back at it with the Spikes Up Tour in February. See you in spring training.
