Two Conchs Charters Controversy - My Take

Before getting into the nitty gritty of the controversy that has risen from Captain Chris from Two Conchs Charters I figured I’d share a video from my trip with Two Conchs and my opinion on the Charter Company. Prior to fishing with them I had no relationship with them and had never charted them before. I heard through the grape vine that they are good people and catch fish, so that’s all I needed to know before booking a three day trip. Long story short, we had a badass time, caught a bunch of fish, and made some epic content out of it. Every one who I encountered were good people who grind on the water - I will be going back next year.

Okay let’s get into it…

This past week a video was posted about a captain from Two Conchs Charters, which ended up reaching millions of people.

The people on the boat included captain Chris and the man who charted the boat along with his two young children. Captain Chris was in the middle of taking the hook out of the mahi they had just caught when the client had made his way towards the throttle and mistakenly slid into the throttle which in turn forced Chris to fall off of the back of the boat & into the dive platform near the motors. Obviously, this could have been a lot worse if he ended up in the motor near the propeller.

What had happened is causing uproar across the fishing community causing difference of opinions amongst viewers. There is always two sides of every story & in this particular video all the viewer can see is a pissed off captain who seems to be frustrated from what had just happened, also stating that he told the guy “I have told you to listen to me”, which makes everyone wonder what had occurred prior to the incident... Here‘s my take on the event that occurred.

Owner Jack Carlson came out with this response and ultimately decided to let captain Chris go.
